About Me
Hi! My name is Sarah and I am the owner and perinatal psychologist at Motherhood Era Psychology. I started my career as a school psychologist and worked in a variety of settings - high school, primary school, rural, regional and metro settings. Within my time working as a school psychologist I have also dabbled in working in private practise which I loved and found very rewarding. When I became a mother myself, I started to have a desire to learn and lean into perinatal mental health. While on maternity leave I managed to do some training in the area and it definitely ignited my passion in the area. I see individuals within the perinatal period which I define as starting from preconception (i.e. thinking of starting a family, fertility issues) all the way up to approx. 3 years postpartum. I work with a range of issues in this period including pre/post natal depression and anxiety, miscarriage and pregnancy loss, postpartum anger/rage, infertility/fertility concerns, bonding and attachment issues, and adjustment to parenthood. Babies are welcome to attend as well. I would describe my approach to therapy as down-to-earth, warm and compassionate. I will never claim to be the "expert" on your life/baby as I believe it is more about building your confidence in being the expert in your life/of your baby. I offer a complimentary 15-minute telephone consult for potential clients to help you figure out if we will be a good fit. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
