About Me

I have been practicing psychology for 18 years, first as a Registered Psychologist then as a Clinical Psychologist - so I completed registration processes twice - and I have always exceeded supervision requirements. I love psychology now but there have been jobs that were interesting and fulfilling and other jobs that left me feeling burned out and disillusioned. One important difference was the quality of supervision that was available. I became a supervisor to share my knowledge. This can include thinking differently about the work or developing specific skills or knowledge to keep you feeling interested and effective in this vast and dynamic field. I also strongly believe that finding the client groups, presentations and techniques that interest you and environments and professional structures that support your wellbeing are vital to career satisfaction and longevity and is important to consider especially when you're new to the profession or are feeling lost or exhausted in your career. My therapeutic goals are to help people reduce symptoms and live satisfying lives by applying empirically supported psychological strategies with warmth, integrity and respect. I tend to be quite active in therapy and approach sessions with openness, humour and compassion. I see adult clients with a broad range of clinical issues and integrate CBT and Schema Therapy with Motivational Interviewing, Dignity Therapy, and ACT. My work is also informed by attachment and psychodynamic principles and I focus on keeping clients engaged for long enough to experience symptom relief. I currently work in private practice. In addition, I provide psychological services to employees of The Australian Ballet and Bangarra Dance Company. I previously worked in Psycho-Oncology for NSW Health, at Macquarie University and TAFE NSW student counselling services, for the NSW Institute of Sport and for Sydney Dance Company. I am registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA), am a Fellow of the College of Clinical Psychologists of the Australian Psychological Society, and a Psychology Board Approved Supervisor. In addition to a Master of Clinical Psychology, I have training in sport psychology and, although I have been using Schema Therapy for several years, I am currently completing Certification.
