About Me

Hi, I am Althea. I am a registered Clinical Psychologist based in Fitzroy North. I have experience providing psychological treatment to adolescents and adults from diverse social cultural backgrounds with a range of mental health concerns, and have also worked in tertiary public mental health settings. My clinical work is grounded in trauma-informed, relational approaches, and I have a particular interest in supporting clients (adults 18+) with complex and developmental trauma, including those with cPTSD/ PTSD, attachment difficulties, mood dysregulation and psychosis in recovery. I draw on a range of evidence-based and trauma-focused modalities tailored to each client’s needs. These include Schema Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), parts work, polyvagal-informed and attachment-based approaches. Guided by the philosophy – it is not what is wrong, but what has happened – I believe in collaboratively developing a thoughtful understanding of what brings clients to therapy and to empower them to make meaningful changes in their lives.
