About Me

Chris has experience working with adolescents, adults, and older adults. Chris places an emphasis on a respectful relationship where thoughts and feelings are treated with sensitivity and honesty. Chris provides a supportive and relaxed environment, and believes that no thought or feeling deserves judgment in therapy. Chris has experience working with anxiety and social anxiety, phobias, OCD, depression, trauma, personality disorders, LGBQTIA+ related concerns, problems with assertiveness, anger management, behavioural problems, intimate relationship issues, and gastrointestinal concerns. Chris believes the most important factors for successful therapy is one's willingness to look inwards and one's motivation to reduce their suffering. Chris will invite you to face and work through internal conflicts, while also making sure that therapy moves at a pace that is right for you. Chris is informed by the Psychodynamic model of Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy, while also incorporating CBT, Mindfulness, and ACT. Chris obtained his formal training of Clinical Psychology at the University of Melbourne and has a wide range of experience working across contexts including at schools, universities, aged-care homes, and in private clinics. Chris has continued to undertake extensive clinical training and supervision in ISTDP, becoming recognised as an ISTDP therapist by The ISTDP Institute.
