About Me
My name is Chelsea Gokcay and I am a Social Worker and Psychotherapist. I have worked with a diverse array of clients in different countries. I approach my work with an open mind and utilize a person in environment lens. My specialties include meeting clients where they are at when they are experiencing depression, anxiety, identity issues, cultural and systemic oppression, acculturation difficulties, isolation, life transitions, trauma, loss, and grief to name a few. I strongly believe that everyone is the expert in their own lives and feel privileged to be invited to walk alongside individuals in their personal life journeys to become the best version of themselves. Over the years, I have worked with a wide array of individuals and communities including migrants, refugees, asylum seekers, survivors of human trafficking, forced labour and forced marriage, veterans, and older adults. Within session, I provide trauma informed treatment drawing from the following evidenced-based modalities: Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Brainspotting (BSP) as well as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
