About me

Steven Pattison is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, Clinical Supervisor, and Director of Inner You Development Pty Ltd. With over 16 years of professional experience across government, community, and non-government sectors in Queensland and New South Wales, Steven brings extensive expertise in trauma-informed therapeutic practice, complex mental health, emotional regulation, family systems, domestic and family violence, and alcohol and other drug interventions.

Steven works with adults, couples, families, adolescents, and children presenting with a broad range of concerns including complex trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, relational conflict, grief and loss, attachment disruption, emotional dysregulation, behavioural challenges, identity and self-worth difficulties, and high-risk or crisis-based presentations. He has specialist experience supporting veterans and first responders, individuals navigating legal and court processes, and families experiencing significant stress or transition. Steven also provides comprehensive Family Court reports and therapeutic interventions aligned with trauma-informed best practice.

His approach is collaborative, neuro-affirming, and grounded in safety, respect, and empowerment. Steven integrates a combination of evidence-based frameworks including EMDR, CBT, DBT, Schema Therapy, Polyvagal-informed practice, attachment-focused work, and systemic family approaches. He believes deeply in meeting each client where they are, honouring their strengths, and supporting meaningful, sustainable change.

Steven is known for his grounded presence, calm and compassionate approach, and his ability to help clients feel safe, understood, and supported—especially during complex or high-pressure situations. He is committed to creating a therapeutic experience where people can rebuild emotional safety, strengthen relationships, restore confidence, and move towards a more connected and purposeful life.

Steven holds degrees in Criminology, Social Work, Community Welfare, and Social Science, and is recognised for his leadership in clinical practice, clinical supervision, organisational culture, and trauma-informed workplace development.
