About me

Zarina believes in a holistic approach, integrating psychological support with an understanding of the physical and emotional aspects of health. Zarina’s goal is to empower individuals to gain skills in fostering resilience and build tools to manage distress. Zarina provides a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to explore their emotions, develop coping strategies, and foster greater self-understanding.
Zarina has extensive experience in various settings including schools, private practice, hospitals, and community centres. Zarina’s work has focused largely on supporting individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma and chronic health conditions (pain management, functional neurological disorders (FND), and concussions).
Zarina’s approach to therapy is integrative and tailored to the unique needs of each client. Zarina draws from evidence-based modalities such as cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), schema therapy, and trauma-informed practice such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Additionally, Zarina is a board-approved supervisor and is available for individual and group supervision.
